I was pulling up to the redlight.and its was raining. I noticed when I had my foot pressed on the brake peddal I could feel a thump through the pedal, and then I noticed the thump in the peddal happened every time the windshield wipers got to the bottom of its stroke. Turned the wipers off and the thump stopped. Sounds more like a Wiper Motor Mount Loose and it is hitting so hard you feel it through the Firewall Vibrations to the Brake Peddle. Check the Wiper Mounts, Linkage Pivot.
the wiper linkages could be hitting the heater air duct piping under the dash, or worn wiper pivots
