Any idea on how to unsilence the alarm on this thing? There is a button under the dash that is for valet and silencing the alarm, but it doesn;t seem to make a difference when pushed in. Are there other steps I am missing???THX!
You have to watch out using Rain-X. The bottle says it's not safe for some plastics. There is a product that goes by the name Fog City Fog Thing. They are laminate sheets which you apply to the inside of the shield and work very well. Although you could experiance some distortion in your view if not properly applied.

From the sounds of it your friend's system was not an up to date system hence the delay. You need advice from an alarms systems expert and need to call in a couple of companies to do you a survey and give you a quote for the work. They will explain the pros and cons of the various types of system available and what is the most suitable for your premises. You may also be able to get advice from your insurance company. On the whole monitored systems are better than un-monitored ones.
