Question:

1990 Toyota truck-can you replace the bed?

Bed has a few holes and rust spots; some not easily fixed/filled... If not what's better; to build a wooden bed or just try to stop any more rust and get a bedliner? Opinions?

Answer:

Definitely need to stop rust...it's like a cancer it'll continue to grow and spread. I buy great products from KBS Coatings for rust prevention repair.
You can replace it yes. Mig weld the holes and resurface it and prep and paint. Bedliners made of black plastic just slip on or in are available and is the cheape$t way. A wooden bed looks like junk.
some of the bed liners are rust magnets - they hold water. There are some spray beds or you can have a body man make patches and paint the bed then use a spray on liner. If there is rust underneath it though it will continue to grow.....
