Question:

1999 ford f-150 won't shift into gear?

1999 f-150 won't shift into gearThe lever moves on the dash but it feels loose when I try to put it into gearIt's a 4.6l and automatic it will not shift out of neutralAnybody have any ideas?

Answer:

Perspex (plexiglass) is a shatter resistant polymer and is widely used in building construction,(replacing glass) is used in aircraft, submarines, and due to it's shatter proof nature, can be bent and shaped to fit in various applications where one could not think of using plain glass.
The shift lever is mounted into an aluminum tube that is held to the top of the steering column with 2 straps, remove the plastic covers on the column and make sure this tube didn't crack in the middle, also the lower end of this tube has a small steel arm attached to it with 2 small torx screws, these screws tend to work loose and fall out causing your concernIf both these are ok check the cable that attaches to the shifter tube and transmission to verify it hasn't came loose or broke.
