Question:

2002 Ford explorer xls rear axle ratio??

I have a 2002 ford explorer xls with a 4.0L V6 SOHC and I am wondering what my rear axle ratio is?

Answer:

2004 Ford Explorer Rear Differential
Open the driver's door, and look at the label that contains all the information regarding your vehicle's specs. Under the 'axle' heading is the axle code. The codes that identify your axle ratio and type are as follows: 41 — 3.27 ratio, non-limited slip. 43 — 4.30 ratio, non-limited slip. 45 — 3.55 ratio, non-limited slip. D4 — 3.73 ratio, limited slip. 44 — 3.73 ratio, non-limited slip with interactive vehicle dynamics (IVD). The most common ratio on that particular vehicle is 3.73, as one of the above already posted. Hope this helps.
