Question:

2002 ford ranger water pump is stuck?

I am trying to replace a water pump on my ranger and i have all the bolts out. It seems to be stuck i think it is because of the oring around the outside of the pump andy ideas of how to free it?

Answer:

First of all, make sure you have removed all the bolts. They can be found in the most unlikely places Once you are positive all the bolts are out gently tap on the pump around the perimeter to break it loose. I have changed many water pumps and seldom do they just fall off. Do not hit the belt pulley as you will need to reuse it. I use a ball peen hammer. You don't care if you damage the pump but why ruin a good hammer. If that doesn't work then you need a mechanic. Most probably to find the bolt you missed. .
The heater middle is placed on the passenger area on the firewall. From the water pump there will be 2 small traces going into the black container on the firewall. The heater middle is interior the container. you will have a foul radiator hose. that's the greater value-effective restoration. If it became the water pump, your automobile could over warmth in minutes. the warmth interior the automobile would desire to be from a vent door caught open interior the heater container.
if all the bolts are out then take a rubber hammer and tap on it. it,s probably stuck on the gasket.
Double check all the bolts are out then hit it with a dead blow hammer.
