Question:

2004 honda civic brake problem?

my bf has well had a 2004 civic and hes had brake problems since he got it in 2005 having to change them more often then you should took it to honda they didn‘t know what was wrong and no one else did either well about a week ago coming to a stop sign the brakes completely went out and ending up bumping into someone and causing a wreck. I wanna know if there has been a recall on this model he never got anything in the mail about it but anyway I also wanna know if anyone else has had this problem with their brakes Iv looked on line and seen a lot of ppl with master cylinder we don‘t know if the brake line broke or if it was the cylinder.

Answer:

shame about your brake problem mate :/
There was no recall on the 01-05 Civic for the brake system. If you went to the dealership never do that again. They might fix your problem but they will always overcharge for a job. Job repair will do for now. Back on topic, You can check the brake pads in the front, the rotors in front, and the calipers. The rear drums use brake shoes so you would have to pop the drum off to check the shoe. You could somehow gotten air in the fuel lines. A simple flush and fill can solve that solution. Also, brake fluid needs to replaced after a while. A flush and fill shouldn't run you no more than $30-40 if you take it to a shop.
