Question:

2008 Pontiac G6 cold air intake?

Does anyone know if they make cold air intakes for G6 V6 SE 3.5L. I cant find them anywhere. or if the 07 version will work without messing anything up.

Answer:

The KN Typhoon kit will work on your 3.5L engine. Mad Jack makes some good points but a few flaws. firstly, If an engine is an airpump at 100% effeciency, 3.5L per cycle times 5900 cycles per minute 20650 liters per minute maximum displacement 20650 Liters convertes to cubic feet at 0.0353146667 Which equates to about 729 CFM :) Secondly, designers design the intake to be efficent but also quiet. Any performance intake is louder because it is must less disruptive in it's flow. Lastly, I have a G6 and increased my quarter mile time by 0.4 seconds and increased fuel economy by about 0.5 liters per hundered kilometers. So it does increase performance. You might not feel it in the seat of your pants like you would a turbo or NOS or even a good cam upgrade. But it an improvement.
I would go to the nearest auto store and let them do it they are 10 or so but I would get the good ones they last longer.
If you buy them at WalMart, they'll put them on free. Just ask them. They're really cheap. Even the very most expensive for my vehicle is under $10 each.
