Question:

5 in1 card reader?

Can you please tell me what that is and what it does? thanks

Answer:

A card reader is designed to read flash memory cards such as SecureDigital (SD), MultiMediaCard (MMC), or MemoryStick (MS) and many more. The reader creates a card-PC link and so you can put data from your PC onto the card and use it in your respective device which accepts the above mentioned cards. For example, mobile phones now use MicroSD cards for storage, so to create a PC link, you can either plug the phone into a PC, or take the MicroSD card out, and plug it into one of these 5-in-1 readers. The 5-in-1 aspect means that it can read 5 different types of cards, but these may be exactly the same. For example, it may state that it reads SD, MiniSD and MicroSD. The thing is that if you need to connect a MicroSD or MiniSD to the card reader, you probably need to put it in an SD adapter! This is how some card readers state that they can read 50-in-1 and the like, because 90% of the cards need an adapter to be inserted into the reader. I hope this helps, Pat.
