Car cranks but won't fire, almost like being starved of fuelGot it to idle but revs drop whenthrottle is pushedAfter letting it sit, engine warms up and only stalls for about a mile then runs excellentI've had fuel filter replaced, relays checked, fuel pumps, fuses all tested.P.SCar only does this when its cold or after sitting overnightI bought it in the summer and it would start up every morning1987 300e 3.0 L6 gasolineWhat could be wrong with it? Can the Engine temp sensor be bad? (If it is Would really appreciate details how to get to it)The anti lock light is always on, if that helps.

They are probably aluminium wire, which ain't badTheir better than OKAnd if they ever get you out of a jam, they'll be wonderful.
I love these cars, and know them very wellThe largest culprit is a dirty IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVEYou have to remove the air cleaner to get to itOnce it is removed, you can spot the IAC easilyIt is fastened to the intake manifold with 2-10mm screws and has two 1 inch rubber hoses attached to itRemove this valve, it has an electrical connector on it and looks like a metal 2 inch cylinderThis fella enriches and leans out the basic idle fuel mixtureIt is controlled by a fuse located behind your battery (check that this fuse is OK) Buy a can of Gum-out, remove the valve, adn clean it out THOROUGHLYOnce re-installed, your engine should idle and start just fine! While you are at it, when the air cleaner is removed, you will also see the fuel metering plate, which is the movable bottom in the bowl-shaped aluminum bowl that has become revealedThis plate should ALWAYS be show room clean for the engine to run correctlyDO NOT BE AFRAID to clean anything you see under your hoodI usually start with a nice engine washing at a DIY car wash and a can of GUNK engine cleanerThe cleaner an engine is, the better it will runThere is a procedure I use to improve overall running on this carYou can E-mail me back for more instructions, if you likeYour engine has what is called CIS continuous fuel injectionOnly European cars ever had thisFor the most part, it is a work of genius and is fool-proofALSO, it is possible that the 2 temp sensors located on the cylinder head are not giving a proper signal to the CIS computerWith the air cleaner removed, these 2 sensors are easy to find and replaceThey work perfectly for about ten years, and should be replaced as a matter of course, anywayGOOD LUCK!!
i am not sure of gage size, i did google but no help, is it possible to use the north american gauge size?
