I see people from time to time claim that WTC leaseholder Larry Silverstein admitted that building 7 was pulled down by a controlled demolition on national TV. This seems stupid beyond words. Is there any truth to this claim?
do you mean after the fact when they had found cracks in the foundations of the surrounding buildings ?
The controlled way in which these buildings collapsed is a tribute to the architects who, though not expecting such a disaster, nevertheless built the buildings so that they would collapse straight down, and not fall over onto other buildings, which would have multiplied the casualties.
Mark F has done such a fine job answering this crazy accusation by conspiracy nuts that I was not going to add anything. But a commentator made the observation to the accusation that Mr Silverstein said 'Pull it' meaning bring down the building, saying; 'if Silverstein meant 'pull down the building', who was he saying that to? the person he said that to would have to be a conspirator as well. You are then with conspirators everywhere, in the NYPD, the New York Fire Fighters, the Media, everywhere'.
