Question:

a car tire for my motercycle?

2008 yamaha v star classic

Answer:

it is not going to work. the tread on a var tire has a flat pattern that would make steering the bike very close to impossible.
No. 1) it won't fit unless you get a custom rim. 2) it has a flat surface touching the ground. To lean a motorcycle, you need a rounded tire. So getting a car tire would mean you can no longer turn by leaning, so your turning radius and turning speed will be massively reduced. 3) a car tire is made of a hard rubber to make them last 70000 miles. A motorcycle tire is made of much softer rubber so that it grips the road. Using a car tire would cut your acceleration because if you gun it, the tire will just spin. Worse, if you slam on the brakes, there is a good chance that the tires would skid and that's a wreak.
