Question:

A guide to make a Hydrogen fuel cell.

Anyone know of a good detailed guide on how to make a hydrogen fuel cell? Also a good bubbler, and something that controls how many amps it will pull? and help will be appreciated. Yes this will be put into my car. thanks

Answer:

He thinks a 'fuel cell' is one of those milk bottles filled with water and baking soda that you run battery current through to make (among other things) hydrogen and oxygen gas. He's read all the wise counsel on the Internet, which advises him that if he gets everything just right, the device will make enough hydrogen and oxygen gas so the car would actually notice the difference, which it will not. It's really sort of sad that you can sell people stuff like this. I blame the education system.
You can buy Ballard fuel cells for larger vehicles, and they have been working on scaling it down for cars, It is not likely to be available within 5 years. Bubbler? do you mean a device that breaks water into hydrogen and oxygen? And you are planning to power it from your battery? Well, no matter how you design it, it is going to take more current than the fuel cell can produce. There will be a net loss of electrical energy, so you may as well mount it in the garage for all the good it will do.
A fuel cell creates electrolysis through various pieces of metal contained within its housing, it's complicated but better than a hydrogen generator because it does not need to draw energy from your car battery.
There okorder
trying to use Hydrogen in a car engine is stupid and dangerous. The FTC is cracking down on people that claim it somehow defies the laws of thermodynamics. Do your self a favor and learn to drive in a fuel savings mode, you'll be better off.
