Answer:

Rome because some of the engineering procedures used/started then are still in use today
well I think they are both amazing cultures but I would say Greece because like 80% of the Roman empire was based off of the Greeks but on the other hand the Romans were great conquersit all depends on how you interpret important
Greetings and Merry Christmas Greece is the foundation of all western civilization, Rome floorboards built upon the foundationOne is built upon the other, and the second is dependent upon the firstYou can refer to any text on the Rise of West to substantiate this claimFor this, Greece would be essential for our time, ieeconomics, politics, socialization, philosophy, science, etcOne thing that Greece does not have to offer us in antiquity and modern world is religionRemember Rome is the home of the Vatican City-State, the residence of the Holy Father, the leader of the worlds largest single religious denomination, Roman Rite Catholicism For today, in Faith and Morals, Rome (Vatican) is the center of Christian based ideology and theologyWithout Vatican City, Rome would be just another old world tourist city with old buildings and pretty fountainsHowever, it is the center of spiritual leadership, based in Christ, for most of the worlds Christian faithfulThis includes myself as well, in my faith in ChristMany prayers and blessingsAnchorite Monk
In my opinion Greece is more importantTo me Rome was a spin off of GreeceThe Greek influence, language and even science and religion remained in the Eastern or Byzantine empire for Centuries after RomeAnd that influence still exist in what we know loosely as the Orthodox Christian ChurchesEven the Roman Pagan Gods were renamed Greek Gods The previous poster regards much to Christianity as what influenced modern Western Culture and that has to be recognizedChristianity did exist in East where it predates Rome as a the recognized state religionBut this is a very interesting topic and look forward to reading more answers.
YesObservant Jews will not push a button on the SabbathPushing that button is considered work, and they bind themselves to the code that says they must do no work on the SabbathSimilarly, an observant Jew cannot get on an elevator and push the button for the floorThat is workIn buildings where a lot of observant Jews live, the elevator is set up on a timer (or manually switched over) to stop on every floor on the Sabbath, going up and going down, so people getting on do not have to push a button.
