Question:

A question to anyone who is a real estate agent...?

I am intersted in becoming a real estate agent. The situation is: I am currently attending college for my master of bus. adm. (MBA). 1. What is the duration of a real estate class? How many weeks, and hours per day?2. How difficult is the exam for licensure?3. What are the costs--for the course and the license itself?4. Given the demand of the career, is it possible to be a real estate agent while attending college (I will be taking two classes at a time--one during the week at night and one on saturday morning).I would appreciate any honest opinion! Thanks!!!

Answer:

what I did before i took my exam.. i wrote 500 resumes..that I was interested in working as an assistant........I took all 500 resumes to each real estate office nearby and put a resume in each realtors mailbox.. i got 2 replies immediately and worked out some hours with 2 busy high producing realtors.. i was then able to decide if this was the position I wanted or not...... a friend of mine did the same thing..(a very very well educated lady)......and she was hired immediately..and did mostly spell checking for a high producer.. you get to see the job personally then...........and decide if that is what you want......
My best friend is ISVA. The other instsitute is the RSVIA....or what have you. Anyone can be an estate agent but you are wise to seek a qualification as it gives you some sort of credence. It's not too hard to get the qualifications as my friend spent most of the time razzed up, turned up to the exams, passed and is now earning very little in the same market town where we grew up.
In many states, a 90 hour class is required. If you study, the tests are not that hard. The cost for the course and licence will vary depending on where you live but it will be at least a few hundred $$. It is REAL hard to make any money doing real estate part time and ALOT of work.
1. What is the duration of a real estate class? How many weeks, and hours per day? Depends on the real estate school you attend and your state's requirements on the number of hours. For instance, in NC one no longer just becomes a real estate licensee. You have to take all the classwork necessary and pass exams to become a broker. 2. How difficult is the exam for licensure? Depends on how hard you study. 3. What are the costs--for the course and the license itself? Some range just under $400. Want to make sure you have multiple opportunities to retake the exam if you don't pass the first time. 4. Given the demand of the career, is it possible to be a real estate agent while attending college (I will be taking two classes at a time--one during the week at night and one on saturday morning. I wouldn't think so, however, once you get licensed you can work as a property manager, which is generally a salaried position. This may be more useful than selling real estate, because there are always educational opportunities and seminars you'll want (and have) to attend to get fully up to speed to compete for business. And you'll need to be flexible in order to meet your client's demands. Today, clients want you on their schedule, not the other way around.
