Question:

Acrylic Paint on Ceramic Plate?

I painted a ceramic plate with acrylic paint. Yes, I know now that wasn‘t the right paint to be able to wash and eat off the plate. I can scrap all the paint off the plates. I was just curious if there was something I could coat the plates with to allow them to be washed or eaten off of. Thanks!!

Answer:

There is a paint especially made paint use on ceramics that will take careful washing. You can find it at a craft store. The best way is to glaze it with ceramic glazes. You paint them on in the pattern you want then fire the plate in a kiln. Check with your local potter.
