Question:

air filters and cold air intakes?

does installing a high flow air filter that fits the same as the stock air filter have the same result that installing a cold air intake system has?

Answer:

I laugh every time I see one of the questions about cold air intakes. They supposedly provide more air and horsepower if you believe the hype. Truth be known, they don't do anything. Think about this.they can't intake cold air if there isn't any. The outside temperature air is what they deliver to the engine. Anyone with an ounce of sense can understand this. Those who buy into the hype are not mechanics. Come on with the thumbs down's from the uninformed!
If the air/fuel ratio for your car is accurate, then a cold air filter makes little difference, However, if your ECM recognizes a heavier/denser air input because of colder air available at the fender well than underhood, there will be a higher ratio of fuel made available to mix with the incoming air. Hence a very slight increase in power at those times.
simplest answer . NO If you contact you local town centre, they will be able to let you know what you have to do to have a small fire . it would probably involve having a pit water . etc etc etc
No, a cold air intake will increase horsepower and possibly gas mileage, quite a bit more than just the filter you can buy for the stock air box. Idk if it is worth the money though.
