Question:

Air intake in Subaru legacy?

Hey, i am thinking about installing an intake system on my 2002 Subaru legacy L. Does anyone have any recommendations for a specific intake. And also if I do install one, do I have to adjust the ECU or any other component in the car? Thanks

Answer:

go with a kn air intake. the other no name ones sometimes throw the check engine light. and no you dont need to adjust your ecm. the car may stall for 5-10secs until it starts. just hold the key in the start position until it starts. the car might feel a little funny until the computer picks up the increase in air flow
please do not put another cold air intake on your car, these are fake crap that does not work, before installing ANY aftermarket sewerpipe with air filters stuck to it ask your mechanic. And while your at it, ask him about those sooper dooper power chips, that are also crap. Unfortunately these have been proven over and over not to live up to the billing. A high performance motor may get limited benefit (only at WOT OR WIDE OPEN THROTTLE) HOW USELESS IS THIS? you cannot run all over town at wide open throttle to make your extra 1,5 horsepower? save your money, it buys a lot of gas, your car will run fine, if you want bolt on go fast goodies, find a turbo and bolt that on. best of luck.
while you're whining approximately whine then you incredibly should not be using a swifter. that's what turbos (and superchargers) sound like.even on saabs. this is a function no longer a difficulty. It sounds captivating. playstation --won't be in a position to place a chilly air intake on a swifter.
