Question:

air intake slow?

my car picks up very slow. when you press on the gas pedal from a stop, it picks up very slow as if something was clogged in the intake. but there is nothing in the way from the throttle body to the air filter. just solid piping. what else could be causing such a lag of air flow? is there something to clean the throttle body or intake manifold?

Answer:

No, a minimum of that's what the Makers of the intake prefer you to think of. i these days bought an intake and it made my vehicle in uncomplicated terms somewhat quicker. Then I custom the clear out and bumped off that intake area and that's alot quicker. I actual have a 05 civic coupe.
I hope that you have changed the air filter also. If not, please do so now. Sluggish engine could also be due to engine getting too much air than what is necessary.
I'm assuming you changed the air and fuel filter? What kind of vehicle? Do you know if it has a Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF sensor)? If so, it is VERY easily damaged and can throw off your air/fuel ratio. Plugged/constricted exhaust?
