Question:

Air over hydraulic brake system?

Is it possible to refit my 32‘ 1972 Mercedes flatbed with a new complete brake system, and if so, who can I find to do it, and for how much? I am at a loss here; no one will even touch the current brake system and the parts are not proving to be easy to find.Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Answer:

go with a k n.o can speical order one from advanced auto parts
I have provided a website that might have the parts you need. See if the dealer can service the car.
whilst the brake pedal is pressed, leverage multiplies the rigidity utilized from the pedal to a vacuum booster. The booster multiplies the rigidity lower back and acts upon a piston interior the grasp cylinder. As rigidity is utilized to this piston, rigidity interior the hydraulic equipment will strengthen, forcing fluid in the process the strains to the slave cylinders. the two maximum easy arrangements of slave cylinders are a pair of antagonistic pistons that are forced aside by the fluid rigidity (drum brake), and a single piston that's forced out of its housing (disc brake). The slave cylinder pistons then word rigidity to the brake linings (often stated as footwear for drum brakes and pads for disc brakes). The rigidity utilized to the linings cause them to be pushed against the drums and rotors. The friction between the linings and drum/rotor reasons a braking torque to be generated, slowing the vehicle.
Hi The total cost for replacement parts would far exceed the vehicle value. air tank, airlines, compressor, discs, pads, shoes, drums, callipers, and cylinders are still available but total labour costs would be prohibitive. You could easily end up with a bill for a couple of thousand.
