I own a Ford Freestyle 2005. All the indicator lights came on. It started with check charge system, battery, then all indicator light came on. The engine speed dropped from 50 to 30 MPG. Driving back home i see check engine light and check tranny. Anyone can tell me what can be the problem? Please? Some told me it could be the motor mount. Any one else know?
The most efficient way to begin your diagnosis is to get to the nearest auto parts store and ask them to pull your computer codes. Most parts stores will do this for free. Once you have the codes, go home and do an online search for the cleaning and test procedures for each suspect component that appears in your code list. Never replace anything based solely on the report from a code reader or scanner. These devices are very helpful but cannot determine whether a component is defective or just dirty. Clean and test all suspect components then have the codes that you've addressed cleared from the computer by an auto parts store.
