Question:

Am I required to wear gloves at work?

I work in a warehouse and my company is big on safety and makes us wear gloves when doing almost anything around the warehouse. I do not like to wear gloves when I am working. I do not mind getting my hands dirty and understand that I may incur some small cuts now and then. Is there any way to get around this? I don’t want to continue to get called out for it and get written warnings I just don’t want to wear gloves while working.

Answer:

There are kits with removable double-stick tape for the purpose. Simpler than drilling holes and much faster. But given that the smoke-detector will be there for a long time, even standard double-stick tape is fine.
I have a first aid kit but no fire extinguisher. Thank you for bringing that to my attention must get one soon.
Drill a 1/4 hole first. Sometimes the plaster will go slightly bigger than the drill bit you are using.
