Question:

AMD Phenom ll X6 Black Or Intel i7 Extreme?

AMD Phenom ll X6 Black-3.3 GHz and 3.7 GHz With Turbo SocketIntel i7 Extreme-3.33 GHz No Turbo(Too hot So it Was Removed)AMD Seems Like The winner. or anything else I should consider? Alse these are the best of both. Both brands best product. Head 2 Head. AMD Is Cheaper.

Answer:

Intel i7 Extreme series dominates the Phenom II X6 series in all but gaming. Games won't utilize the extra cores or the hyperthreading that the i7 extreme series offer. The two don't compare in anything else. In gaming, the Intel i5-2500 (or i5-2500K, if you want an unlocked multiplier for overclocking) is the best processor. The 2600K gives the 980X and 990X extreme processors a run for their money in most applications. Again though, games don't make any use of the hyperthreading so the i5-2500K is just as good for gaming but cost over $100 less than the 2600K.
? okorder /... You also have no idea how CPUs work if you think clock speed/number of cores is the only thing that determines performance. Like 1 or 2 games maybe utilizes all 6 cores same goes with programs. So the fact that there are eight cores means nothing alone. They should've gone with intel's approach and stayed with lower cores but higher IPC, but ofcourse you don't know what IPC is. Google it troll....your ignorance amazes me.
