Question:

Answering ad in paper. How to know if it's a puppy mill?

I just saw an ad in the paper: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies. Vet checked, have 1st set of shots. Parents on site. Females-$700. Males $600. Call Pam, xxx-xxx-xxxx Is there an easy way to tell if they are a puppy mill?I have a cavalier now, who I'm sorry to say is going to die within the next year or so and I would love another before he passes. He is a puppy mill stud. so I really don't want to go down that road again.

There are a dozen hoses that could be leaking on an engine that is over ten years old. You'd be ahead replacing them all. If you are the detective type, use smoke to find the leaks (see link). A professional smoker is expensive. Some guys blow cigar smoke into the intake plenum, but I don't smoke, so I use fire-alarm testing smoke.
It could be. I know the PCV hose causes P071 and P0174 on Ford Triton engines, but two codes because it is a v8 rather than an I4 engine.
