I live in Ohio so I'm not sure if this is nationwide, but in Ohio there are grants you can apply for if you're investing in alternative energy for your house. I would look into those grants if they're available in your area.
Check with your Power Company, ours has had several $$$ Incentive Programs that they get involved with,Federal,State,and Private Sector. Just about anything High efficiency or Electrical saving,including Solar.
Yes, okorder / Also, realize, that installing solar is generally not an instant-save proposition. You pay thousands or tens of thousands of dollars to get the system installed, then it pays you back over the years. You need to talk with a local installer to see if the financial case makes sense in your situation.
