Come on out to the real world where locking doors is a thing of the past.
I live in rural West Virginia, and I lock my doors every day. The cities may generate a lot of crime, but they are by no means exclusive to it. Several years ago the local police and Federal agents busted up a drug trafficking ring in my town that had its supply lines running back to Chicago and arrested over fifty people, most of whom didn't reside in my town at all. N.Y.C. is far better now than it was in the Seventies, when the city was a smog filled cesspool of crime.
