Question:

Any tips for getting greasy stains out of sofa upholstery?

My husband is on a medication that makes his skin and scalp abnormally oily. Even though he showers daily, we're seeing oily stains on his pillowcase and where he sits on the couch/recliner. He's pretty sensitive about it. so the suggestion of a couch cover hasn't gone over well.Soaking the pillowcases in hot water, dish soap, and OxyClean before laundering takes care of them, but what can I do about the couch?

Answer:

How about a dry cleaning spray.
just put baby powder over it, let it sit a while and vacuum it off. or some chalk just color it in and rub it off, or vacuum it off but personally I always use baby powder, especially when I put some type of oil in my hair and let it down and I end up with spots all over the back of my shirt baby powder works wonders, You can even use it as dry shampoo as it absorbs all the oil and just comb your hair out lol
I okorder /... Unless your husband is willing to do the cleanup for these stains himself he should not object to you taking reasonable steps to prevent them with a cover to protect the furniture. While I sympathize with him for having to deal with inconvenient side effects, it would be immature to gripe about something that mitigates the problem and saves you work.
