I just watched a couple video's of them playing on Letterman and then saw one of them playing Down By the River with Neil Young, and **** these guys are pretty good.Any tips on where to start with albums (live or studio), songs, or time periods?

Phish is the greatest jam band of all time. i would buy some of their live concerts, as thats where they would jam and improv, it will blow your mind. go pick up some DVDs from the 80s and 90s up til now. if you want to get some ablums as well i would advise that, depending on your budget of course
picture of nectar, hoist, and story of the ghost are albums i like. some good live shows are their halloween shows where they play a whole album....they have done the white album, quadrophenia, dark side of the moon, and a few others.
