Question:

Are amd bulldozer going to be faster than intel's sandy bridge?

i want to know that newly coming bulldozer chips will perform equally to intel's sandy bridge, in a low price,or they will perform more fast than intel latest chips like:-i5-2500k,i7-2600k,i7-990X,etc......please tell me your opinion on the topic****thank you........

Answer:

I'm afraid the FX-8150 bulldozer is a bit of a disappointment. Yes it has 8 physical cores but if you look here you see it's bench marks only rank it #19...below the intel 2600 and 2600K but higher than the 2500...the 990X IS the top of the line in performance...nothing beats it ...however...at $1000...I can find better ways of spending money!
Some have been release with a disappointment to many who thought they can out perform the sandy bridge series , the bulldozer falls below the i7-2600k in benchmarks check without overclocking, and the top of the line is the i7 -990x that can outperform the i7-2600k any time of the week, now here's something amd is not going to like a new sandy bridge series is due out soon called the ivy sandy bridge series, but price wise i would go with the new 8 core amd bulldozer series, from a friend they perform well in gaming
I'd suggest 2500k cheaper than bulldozer and performs with less power and about the same performance I'f you want to spend the extra $100, but the i7-2600k or wait for the i7-2700k, or even ivy bridge Bulldozer has 4 sets of shared 2 cores which doesn't perform as well as it should with today's software
AMD okorder /
In summary, Bulldozer is better on heavily threaded applications. That is, applications which take full advantage of multiple processor cores (and not too many do these days). Intel still takes the crown in performance king for most users.
