Question:

Are fire extinguishers required by law?

Is it required by Indiana law to have a fire extinguisher in each apartment or so many feet away from an apartment? If so, where is this written?

Answer:

If they are testing the alarms too much, I would complain to your landlord or whoever owns the building about it being a nuisance. Don't be afraid about not being able to hear the alarm, if you use an alarm clock or something that has a medium sound setting you definitely will wake up to the fire alarm as it is made to be a lot louder. There will be a lot of commotion outside of your apartment also, which will add to the decibel level and make it impossible to sleep.
Yes, you will have to go Pex to pvc with regular threaded fittings. they have them at lowes. its a few fittings per connection and is not pretty but it works. and yes, same size pex. its inside dimentions, the outside dimention is different..
