i've heard great things about memory foam beds, but our house uses evaporative cooling in the summer (and I'm in southern AZ!)
if you use your bed to watch tv or sit on without being in the sleeping position it starts to get a bulge where you sit, i guess if you change where you sit every few hours it should be fine, this is just a warning other than that i don't know sorry, it was very nice to sleep in until it bulged where i sit
I tested out a memory foam bed at the store. I laid on the bed for less than 5 minutes already and the first thing that surprised me was how hot my back got. It's because the memory foam is suppose to completely envelope your body surface to give support in the right places. But that also means there's no air circulation between your body and the bed. I couldn't stand it for even 5 minutes. But I heard there are different brands of memory foam beds and some are cooler than others. So go to the store where they have them on display and try them out to see if you like them or not.
