Question:

Are Nuclear Weapons bad or good (opinion question)?

Are Nuclear Weapons bad or good (opinion question)?

Answer:

I believe nuclear weapons are a deterrent to a major world war, although they do not discourage countries from conventional warfare. Actual use of nuclear weapons would be suicidal, a no win situation, though If I recall reading correctly, China, with its' vast population expects to survive victoriously. China is the real threat to the world. Beware the sleeping dragon! Please support world war 3, and buy made in China.
When they sit in silos subs deterring the US USSR from going to war, they're good. When they're used by N Korea to intimdate threaten neighbors or blackmail others in to propping up a crumbling regime, they're bad. When non-nation states get them, people who have no home to lose, well thats really bad. edit: China!! Oh, they're not a threat, just because they try to continually penetrate our DoD DoE computer systems. China their hunt for oil is why the the Africa Command was created. So please shop at Wal Mart, china needs new missile systems.
Nuclear weapons are good as a deterent. Basically if you use them,I can fire them back at you. It would be ideal if no one had them so the threat would not exist. Research mutually assured destruction
They serve a purpose which basically says don't mess with me or else. But even knowing that I have to say that they are very very bad. It would be awesome if everyone would do away with them but they would just find something else just as threatening.
In the hands of rational countries, good. In the hands of Iran, North Korea, terrorists, Chavez, etc, very bad.
