yes : the event promoters are inviting the press to comment positively on the event - would be a bit rude to make them pay :)
Press tickets are NEVER offered to individuals... they are given for free to OFFICIAL NEWS AGENCIES who then give them to the people covering the event. If you work for one of those agencies then they are probably for real.
Yes they are for PRESS, representatives of the press.
