Question:

Are speed bumps bad for my car? It's a 2004 Mitsubishi Galant.?

Is there anything I can do (go slower, faster) to make it easier on my car? Is it even harming my car? Thanks!

Answer:

Violation of one of the safety rules posted in EVERY gun manufacturer's manual. THE ONLY effective safety devise is a well trained shooter. Unless they are referring to the grip safety, I have no idea because the plate safety is usually also a decocker. ( if Yahoo will allow that)
Half of the cops in the US carry glocks and every one carries with round in the chamber. Glock has demonstrated that they are very safe. There is no reason that a round in the chamber is a problem as long as you treat every gun with respect. The 911 is more problematic as there are many versions by many manufacturers and some are a lot better than others.
1. Wrong about the Glock. Only people who can not keep their big dumb finger of the trigger have a issue. Gun basic 101. 2. The single action auto has a hammer safety grip safety. You must disengage both to fire the gun. The gun is drop safety tested as well. 3. Folks have carried 1911's for a century with few issues. Safety device 1 is your brain, not a mechanical device. 4. Personally I prefer condition 2 carry with the hammer down safety off on single actions.
Perhaps they tend to bottom out or hit their exhaust in some cases, also some drivers don't realize that bumps are softer if you get off the brake. Some people just care more about their vehicles, and don't care to beat them apart on those things.
