Question:

Are the kirby Vacuum cleaners really a good investment?

Are the kirby vacuum cleaners really a quot;good investment. My husband let these people in our house who were quot;promoting a new store were offering a free floor cleaning demoquot;...FREESkipping to the point..I was lied to and pressure into buying a $2000 vacuum cleaner. I called to cancel but they keep sending people to my house to convince me it's a quot;good investmentshould I keep it or tell them to f* off call the cops next time they come to harrass me? I felt bad because they were here for so long but I can't afford this quot;investmentquot;. They made me feel guilty saying I spend more a month on my cell each month but afterall it's still $2000 for a vacuum

Answer:

We bought a used 'ninety 4 Kirby in 1996. We paid $4 hundred. for it. i admire the effective suction, in spite of the undeniable fact that it additionally comes with drawbacks. right here are my evaluations approximately this Kirby: a million. i do no longer in common terms like the cost of changing the filters (they're approximately $8. a bag and in common terms have 3 bags in a kit. 2. this is not consumer-friendly to alter from vacuum to using the hose. 3. this is variety of heavy and cumbersome and does not maneuver definitely. in my opinion, this is not fairly worth it. you ought to purchase a bagless Dyson for around $500. and that they paintings super. Does the $1800. cost comprise all the attachments? do you elect all those attachments? Are all the bells whistles fairly worth $1800.?
Even the people I know that love their Kirby's say that it isn't worth the expense. Yes, tell them to f off. That kind of pressure is not ethical and I would report them to the Better Business Bureau.
Came from generations of Kirby users hands down before commercial vacuum cleaners best on market but I dont buy new I go to pawn shops I can tell very quickly if in good shape and pick for less than 200 dollars for units 3 years old with all attachements. Now I have switched to commercial it has 40 pounds of suction is self propelled and has attachements built in bought used at vacuum cleaner store goes from floor to carpet as well now I have changed my mind commercial is built to handle the job go over floors just once!!! 53 years of vacuuming at your service lol
Kirby Vacuum Generations
Probably not. Kirby is a good machine - but you got to figure there's a bunch of old ones around which have held up really well - and you can have them cheap. People want a new machine. So put out the word that you want an old Kirby.. And don't let these pieces of crap make you feel guilty!!!! This is how they sell vacuum cleaners. I remember our psychology professor telling us this specifically.... he said that to sell anything door to door, you have to learn how to make a person feel guilty for something. DON'T fall for it. There's old Hoovers around too - and they're a good machine. Often you can get a really old one - from as far back as the 50's - and get a new beater bar for it, repair the bag, oil the motor and away you go.
