Question:

are the wiring harnesses for a 1999 civic lx and ex the same?

I bought a salvaged vehicle and the door was switched with one of a different year or model Im not sure. I cant work the power locks because the harness does not match the plug. I found one for a 1999 civic ex but I dont know if it will also work on the lx. Any suggestions?

Answer:

go to your local honda dealer and have them check the door harness part number to see if they are the same number. the door harness can be bought and the price is not that bad.
the interior wire harnesses are all different bc of the motor. the lx is a non-vtec and the ex has the vtec motor so when they made them they made 3 different wire harnesses bc of the dx, lx, and ex. but for the doors from a ex to a lx are the same bc they are powered unlike the dx model.
they are diff.
I presently own a ninety 3 Integra GS. It has given me no longer something yet issues. This being reported, i might decide on this vehicle over any civic (inventory) any day. It weighs approximately 2000 pounds greater beneficial than the Civic, the Civic has a various engine a million.5-a million.6. There are approximately 5, or so, diverse engines that went in that vehicle. The Integra GS, LS, RS comes with a B18A1(non-VTEC) obd1 a hundred and forty bhp, jointly as the GS-R makes one hundred sixty with it somewhat is B17(VTEC) engine. The Civics had a D15(non-VTEC), aprox one hundred bhp. maximum Civics you will locate for a lifelike value have that engine. expenditures to repair would be comparable. they're the two as good because of the fact the different. Mine became merely offered from an fool who did no longer be attentive to wtf they have been doing. So rather ninety two Integra FTW!
