There are a number of gaming laptops that have upgradable Video cards (Alienware MX15-17, some Asus, and most Boutique laptop makers). But the trade off is a bulky machine, with few Graphic's card options. For example The Alienware mx15-17, Has a more current card upgrade option Nvidia GTX 700m. But don't expect anything greater later. Awhile back there was a move to standardize Laptop Graphics cards. But with the trend to Ultrabooks, this stalled, as ultrabooks need to have integrated graphics to cut down on size. None of the nice Small Ultrabook type gaming laptops (i.e: Razer Blade) are upgradable.

unfortunately laptops have no real replaceable parts other than RAM or hard drives (in some optical drives too). all other parts are soldered onto the main board. the very best upgrade you can do to a laptop is install a solid state drive.
