by any chance did he eat something odd that would be bean sized/shaped? Look around the house and see if there's anyting he may have gotton into that would explain the odd stools.
The issue of diarrhea.did you recently change his food? Or could he have eaten something he shouldn't have, maybe you arent aware of yet? Is he up to date on his shots? the reason I ask that is because of the foul oder you are smelling from his diarrheaI have read that some dogs infected with parvo can have a very foul smelling diarrheaIt could also be a bacterial infectionI would definately be concerned too and get him to a vet as soon as I possibly couldIf you recently did do a food change, you can try feeding him chicken and riceOr Ground beef and rice.blandThe chicken and rice seemed to work great for my dog when she had a bacterial infection, diarrhea (very smelly)It was recommended by my vet along with a tablespoon of plain yougert three times a day So sorry to hear about your friend.
