No tax dollars to support religion. Muslim law prohibits contact with the &unclean&. Menstrual blood is about the most unclean thing in Muslim law. If they build them, make sure that they will never be used for religious purposes.
it is again the double standard at work..this is a most serious situation and insidious erosion of the separation of church and state. Muslim are the only religion that demands all other accommodate their religious requirements and strangely the ACLU supports them in this yet they will sue if a student mentions the effect Christ has had in their lives in a graduation speech. first come accommodations, bowing to their demands then they will demand that we all respect their Shia laws above our own since again, their religion requires this. this is already occurring in england and sweden. wake up America, everyone has the right to practice their religion or lack of one, but taxpayers should not have to pay for their requirements to do so. where is the ACLU on this one?
That is in the largest Muslim community in the U.S., so yes, that makes sense... this is coming out of their tax dollars, after all. Also, I used to work with Muslims. They would use the toilet for their rituals if they had no other resource at their disposal; this is the kind of dedication they have towards their religion. It is both a safety and health concern for the entire student body to have these footbaths. I suppose I have a different perspective on this; I do not see it as the school condoning this religion, but rather, not &prohibiting the free exercise thereof.& They are going to do it anyways, just as Christians and other denominations have the right to pray in school if they so desire. If Christians had such strict observations, I imagine that they would be accommodated, too.
