Question:

Are wheel chairs able to roll on carpets/rugs?

I'm moving soon and currently my room is being constructed (dad was a builder/architect)I want a carpet, because whenever my chair rolls, it would scratch the floor boards, but I'm not sure my chair would be able to roll around on a carpet or rug. So will it?

Answer:

Of course your chair will roll on the carpet. Now if you select a carpet with a low pile on it, it will offer less resistance to your wheels and be easier for you to navigate. A pile like an indoor-outdoor carpet, they have some nice choices,or even some commercial style flooring has a low pile for high traffic areas. You don't have to live in a barn with cold hard floors, you can enjoy carpet! A chair with larger wheels in the front will be able to roll over the floor-to-carpet transitions better. Smaller wheels tend want to get stuck at those points. Especially if the carpet layer folds the carpet edge over (cheap undesired technique in my opinion), rather than using metal carpet strips.
Yes they can. It's bit harder to roll. But totally possible.
chairs can roll on office carpet which has a low pile
Some chairs have hairier wheels than others. It's just a result of their ethnic background. Go with whatever the social norm for your local chair is.
Yes rolling chairs are totally rollable on carpet, and they are harder to roll on it, also they damage the carpet at the same time. I have a rolling chair I#x27;m my room. But I brought a chair mat. That withstands the persons weight on the chair. Plus it makes rolling easier. They are made of carpet. And stay in place.
