Question:

Back-up Alarm That Sounds Like Sonar?

Anyone know of a back-up alarm for trucks that sound like the sonar ping like the ones we hear in the movies?

Answer:

I doubt that there are legalities involved against the building's owner since you say it was a prank and therefore not his fault the fire alarm was activated. The fire alarm shouldn't have any affect on the electrical drain to the building. I agree that there should always be someone around the building 24/7 to handle any problems with a fire alarm that has been triggered. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes for someone that responsible for the building maintenance or security, to find out that a false alarm has been turned in, and be able to reset or silence the alarm. The police are usually the first to arrive when there's an alarm of any kind, so maybe they could shut the alarm off after making sure it's a false alarm. If this is a constant problem of false alarms being activated, then the owner of the building should have a security camera mounted at the location of each fire alarm activation box to record who has set the fire alarm off. This could be a hidden camera so the culprit wouldn't dash up with a hoodie on and trip the fire alarm so you couldn't tell who it might be. This is a serious matter because the firemen are at risk as well as the public when there are firetrucks rushing to an address because of a fire alarm being set off.
Can't tell you for sure what the green slime consists of but the folks at the A/C shop should be able to tell you. I suspect it's a mixture of corrosion and oil.
