Question:

Baking dish for moussaka , can I use the cake baking pan ?

Hello there,I am going to prepare moussaka and I am thinking of using two 8 inch X 8 inch baking pan ( with approximately 2 inch thickness ) that I normally use for baking cakesCan I really use them to serve say 12 people or must I use a big glass baking dish to fit all the moussaka together ? Also, is the depth of the pan ( approx2 inches ) less than what it should actually be ? I know it would look better if I serve in a glass baking tray ! :)

Answer:

Why now not insulate the second flooring? Something does not sound proper right hereIf your attic is good insulated, why is it sizzling? Is the insulation on roof rafters or at the attic flooring among the second-flooring ceiling and the attic appropriately? Your condo was once developed earlier than the oil drawback and I'll guess the ones second flooring external partitions would use insulationIs there any wherein you'll be able to verify conveniently? (like in a closet) You look to have a wide variety of vents within the attic however you are pronouncing, the hot air can not depart in view that cooler air can not inputSoffit vents sounds well and you do not ought to near the gable ventsYou normally want only some.
Why no longer insulate the 2nd floor? Something would not sound proper hereIf your attic is well insulated, why is it scorching? Is the insulation on roof rafters or on the attic flooring between the 2nd-floor ceiling and the attic appropriately? Your condominium was once built before the oil hindrance and i will wager those 2nd floor outside walls would use insulationIs there any where that you would be able to assess quite simply? (like in a closet) You look to have all forms of vents within the attic but you are pronouncing, the warm air can not depart considering cooler air are not able to enterSoffit vents sounds excellent and you don't must close the gable ventsYou frequently want only some.
definitely don't block the ridge ventadding a gable fan or a roof fan will help, i had to use both but no mold problems sincekeep in mind a gable fan should blow to the north or west to draw in from the south or east, less moisture i thinkit might be related to whole moss grows on the north side of trees thing.
As long as your layers aren't overflowing in the metal pans, the depth shouldn't be a problemIf you're worried it'll bubble over you could always but a large foil covered (for easy clean up) baking sheet on the rack belowThere isn't much of a difference between dark coated metal pans and glassware when bakingUsually recipes even give you times and temps that are the same for these two, compared to light aluminum cookwareSo I would just keep an eye on it to make sure it's cooking evenly! As for the servings, it depends how big your guests' appetites are! I would think that an 8x8 would be plenty for six people as long as your serving other sides or salad with the moussakaIf you use the metal just make sure that the utensils you use are plastic and not metal so you won't scratch it! I've had friends borrow my metal ware and have been very disappointed when it was returned because they used metal utensils ( btw that is one of my absolute fave dishes! )
