Question:

Bearded dragon incubator HELP!!!?

My female will be laying soon and i know everything except for one thing. I put my eggs in a small rubbermaid container full of vermiculite, do the containers (inside of the incubator) have to have tops on them with holes? if so, how big do the air holes need to be and how many on each container?

Answer:

no they dont need tops just make sure you turn the eggs half of turn every day i have done this many times
Put the lids on the containers. All around the edge of the lid about 1cm apart drill holes - (Do this before put you put the lid on of course). If you use a 2-3 mm Drill bit to do this the hatchlings will not escape during the 24hr resting period after hatching. This will help keep the moisture level in the container. Remeber to check still that the vermiculate does not get dry. This is how I have instructed several other breeders to incubate they have all had a 95% success rate with this. This is also the method that I have used in the past with a 98% success rate
