Question:

Best Ball Python bedding?

What is the best bedding i can get for my Ball Python?

Answer:

Well, that depends. If you're going for an aesthetically pleasing bedding, Aspen works great. If you're going for humidity retaining bedding, try Cocoa peat. But if you want an inexpensive, easy to clean, low demand bedding, use paper towels. My Ball Python has them in his cage and he's doing great.
i use paper towels or newspaper. cheap easy to clean. but i dont have humidity issues
Newspaper okorder /
I stay away from Aspen due to possible mite and ingestion problems. I guess they say you can freeze it though. I used coconut eco earth but when the ball got in the water it clung all over him. I tried newspaper with an UT heater but it was too hot, I kept adding paper but it was still too how. But with an over the tank heat day bulb that would not be a problem. But before I used the over the tank bulb and had the under tank pad I went to the zilla terrarium liner. I really like it, I have 2, one to clean and one to put in the terrarium. I like it with the over and under heat sources.
I would never use newspaper for a ball python even though it is cheap is will stress it out if you just got it.I would recommend aspen wood shavings. The reason I would never use newspaper even though it is supper cheap it doesn't have enough for you ball python. If he is cared he wants to get away as fast as he can and with newspaper it will slow him down due to lack of traction. This is in my expedience with ball pythons. I always use aspen bedding but what ever you can use like pelted paper works good too.Try to stay away from the newspaper until you ball python is none stressed.
