Question:

best high chair to buy?

i am hoping not to waste money on a not suitable high chair. what are everyones thoughts on high chairs

Answer:

I have a safety 1st high chair which converts into a booster seat. It's also one of those chairs that is a space saver, so you attach it to a kitchen chair. It was around $40 and I LOVE IT!!!
I saw the Ocean Wonders on sale at Toys R Us and nearly bought one. It's a good highchair from what I could see. :) We have a space saver one because we don't have room for a full-high-chair and wanted one we could use going out to eat if we decided to go out, or at family get togethers. It's held up wonderfully and I have no complaints about it. I like that it fits on normal chairs and converts to a booster as they get older. But sometimes I do wish we had a high-chair. It's really up to you what sort you want.
in different colors than what is shown. It folds up to only be 7.5 inches wide. I keep it in the little gap between my fridge and the wall, very compact. It has all different heights. The tray is removable, also has a removable easy to clean tray cover. It has an optional 5 point harness so it can be used with little babies who can't quite sit alone yet. Its very comfy and padded but you can take the seat cover off for better cleaning if you need to.
I have a Fisher Price Ocean Wonders chair and we like it. I wouldn't call it the best there is but it works fine for us. Has different heights, reclines, removable tray and toys to play with while I am getting her food ready. I haven't tried any others though so I can't compare it to anything. edit: just wanted to say be careful with the ones you strap to the chairs. They are a great idea and save tons of space if you have chairs that accomadate them. I got one as a gift and while I love the concept of it, my chairs don't fit it well and it hangs over the edge a bit so if my daughter leans forwards the whole chair will tip over. So in our case it didn't work :(
I bought a Graco high chair, and really like it. Especially the dishwasher-safe removable tray insert. It makes it so easy to clean up, Which is completely important in my life. It reclines, has adjustable heights, and moves easily with wheels. And we liked the colors. However, my two year old is getting big, and so we just had to go out and buy a booster seat for her. That being said, if I were going to buy a brand new high chair for my 6 week old, I would go with the Graco Blossom, because it would last longer. It's more expensive, but it does everything a regular high chair does, and has a booster seat, too. And I like how safe Graco items are.
