Question:

Best Taylor Made Iron set?

I‘m changing to a new set of irons soon. I‘ve been using the r7 draw irons for a few years and my coach suggested I get a new set of irons with a muscle back blade, not a cavity back. I‘m 15 and have a pretty low handicap so i was wondering which sets of Taylor Made irons I should get?

Answer:

Define better. Are you looking for help hitting it straight and/or higher? Look to the Burners: they have thicker soles, more offset and longer blade lengths. all three add up to forgiveness and help with adding distance. If you don't need that much help, but aren't quite ready to win USGA-sanctioned amateur events, go with the R11's. Whatever you do, get the new set fitted to you! You will make the clubs work for you, which is always a bonus.
Take a safe riding course first. Then buy a used standard or cruiser in good mechanical shape, dents and dings don't matter, you'll add to the collection. The trouble with reviews is they are for new bikeswhich you can't afford now. $1000-2000 is plenty to spend including the gear, helmet and boots, gloves. 500-600 CC is enuff, just get 1 that fits BTW Sportster is a trade name for a HD small cruiser not a sport bike.
It's this way, 90% of the riders that have the CBR 1000 can't ride it well, That is a race bike with lights. A pet Tiger, docile enuf, but you can't turn your back on it or make mistake. The 600 is the same story, but a Puma. I'd go for the 600 and lots of gear. I was at the dealership today for an inspection, the seats are now vinyl covered pads, I'm too old now but they don't look comfortable. ANOTHER analogy, It will test you to reach your best riding skill, like standing over the edge of a building, you can't know where that line is until ytou lean too far.
the only muscle back blades they make are the rac mb and rac mb tp. they are both excellent irons. i think they are the best clubs TM makes. The tp set is over 1000 bucks but a good set of used mb's is 3 or 4 hundred
Burner Plus Irons are almost super-game improvement irons. You could fit a Chihuahua in the cavity. The best Taylor Made irons are the R9 TP irons or the Burner irons. If you want a really good set of muscleback blades, then look into Mizuno irons.
