Question:

Bomz Racing Cold Air Intake? Honda Accord car preformance? Car looks?

I have a 1996 Honda Accord. I bought this as my first car upgrade. 1] What should i do next to improve performance? 2] How does this cold air intake compare to a name brand like KN or AEM? 3] What should be the first thing I do to improve the looks of the car? 5]What would improve acceleration? *I would like to keep things inexpensive.*By the way it is a 4 cylinder. *I am a car novice and any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Aric

Answer:

First place you should go to is the breathing of the engine. Get some headers, aftermarket Performance Air Induction, and get new Flowmasters. Now your engine is ready and capable of doing justice to a new ignition system, etc.
Well Bomz Racing isn't really comparable to AEM, Injen, KN, etc. It's more of a cheap alternative. The brand name parts such as AEM, KN, Injen, Skunk2, all cost more money for a reason and that reason is because they're put through several test to insure they actually help increase HP. It may look like just a regular pipe to you but some are made to perfection. As for performance the Bomz Racing Cold Air Intake will give you more sound then performance. It's probably giving you 1-2 horsepower max. A Cold Air Intake works better with an aftermarket exhaust and headers so for you to see a noticeable increase in acceleration you would need to add Headers (DC Sports) and a catback exhaust system (Skunk2, Apexi, Greddy, MagnaFlow, DC Sports). If you want to improve the looks on your car then simply keep it clean. When I say clean I mean keep it looking OEM. Get some nice 16' rims and put them on your car. If you have that big nasty gap between the wheel and the car then lower your car so it sits nice. Also if your headlamps look all foggy and dirty you should polish it to make it look nice and clean. If you have faded paint or any rust spots then get that taken care of. If you didn't do it already then tint the windows. Try to invest more money in your cars performance rather than in looks.
you should complete it with an exhaust and header as for the look of the car, it depends on what you like If you're one of those people who thinks the fast and furious has awesome cars than a bodykit is what you need But if you're like what most advanced and experienced honda owners, than go with a clean JDM look, maybe a nice lip kit
