Question:

BORED what can i do!!!!?

idk what to do im so bored!!!

Answer:

I like to braise brisketSeason the meat with salt and pepper, then marinate overnight in a puree of tomatoes, garlic, cumin, cayenne, bay leaf, and lime juice Sear the brisket in a pan with oil on both sides, remove the brisket add 1 diced onion and green pepper and saute, deglaze the pan with red wine, remove from heat, add the brisket and the marinade to the pan, bring to a simmer and cover tightly, then place in a 275 degree oven for about 3 hours, check to make sure it is done, should be fork tenderThe liquid can be used as a sauce over it.
My uncle makes great brisketsHe slow cooks the meat in the oven at 250 degrees for 6 - 8 hoursHe drizzles a little olive oil in the bottom of the pan so it won't stickBaste the meat once an hour or so to keep it from drying out (add a small amount of water to the pan if needed)The only seasoning necessary is salt and pepper to taste (although many drown brisket in BBQ sauce, which I think is foul) Always check the meat with a meat thermometer to make sure it gets to the proper internal temp so you don't get sick.
My personal favorite method is smokingSmoke the meat for about 12 hours using either Mesquite, Hickory, or Pecan woodIt is a good idea to cover the surface with a dry rub first.
