Brake Light Question?

If you press the brake and the left light doesnt work, but the when you turn the lights on the light comes on. Is it the fuse or is it the bulb?

Answer:

your break light (bulb) is different than the rear light (bulb) that comes on when you turn your head lights on. replace the break light... it's not a fuse.
the bulb is toast
didnt get what u where tryin to say, but u can check the fuse that goes with the light youre talking about or simply grab a screwdriver and take tailgate off, and see if the bulb is burned or not... good luck
Why dont you just change the bulb and eliminate the .19 cents part first, if that doesn't fix it, take it to a shop. The fuse works both brakes lights and the third brake light so if any of them light up, common sense tells you it's not the fuse.
Fuse: Both would not work. Replace the bulb The bulbs have 2 elements in them. When you turn on the lights, the low intensity element is lit. When you hit the brake, the second element lights up......Very common. You should be able to access the bulb from the trunk area....should be 1/4 turn to remove the socket and then you can remove the bulb. With the new bulb, do not directly handle the bulb as any oils on your hands will cause the bulb to prematurely fail (experience!). When inserting the new bulb in the socket, use a paper towel to handle the bulb and wipe the glass clean after it is in place........then reinsert the socket back into place and you should be good to go. When inserting the bulb, you should not need to force it, if you do, you probably need to turn the bulb around and try it that way.........OR you have been given the wrong type.......make sure you have an exact match or an OEM replacement. Another tip: Replace both and you will not have to revisit the lights for quite a while.
