Question:

Brand new brake system. Best way to paint calipers?

I am replacing the entire braking system on my car. I want to paint the calipers, since I have a fairly open wheel design. My question is this: since the components are new and off the car, can I just spray them down real well with a high-temp engine spray paint, wait a day or so, and then put them on like normal? What would be the best way to apply the paint, and are there any precautions to doing this (since they‘re not on the car and therefore not completely assembled) because of rubber components or anything?

Answer:

ONLY paint what is seen. any paint in the bores will distort the sealing surface and the brake fluid will damage the paint anyway. any rubber parts should not be painted since it will have an effect on the flexibility of that part.
Hello you have got a twin grasp cylinder which has two hydraulic circuits when the brake pedal is pushed hydraulic oil is ent down the pipes to the brake shoes slave cylinder at the rear and to the brake calliper on one from wheel as it does to the other facet so braking takes position free up of the pedal gets rid of the strain so the cylinders retract. Easy as that.
VHT makes a line of aerosol paint just for calipers, they also have the caliper cleaner. Paint the exterior housing only, tape off the piston bore so you don't get over spray in there. A better, long lasting alternative is to have them powder coated.
